Fisheries - Data Snapshot

Spatial data is crucial for the fisheries sector as it can provide valuable information on the location, distribution, and abundance of fish stocks. With accurate spatial data, fisheries managers can make informed decisions on where and when to fish, and how much to catch, ensuring sustainable practices and the longevity of fish populations. Spatial data can also help identify potential fishing grounds, predict fish migration patterns, and monitor the impact of environmental factors on fish habitats. In short, spatial data is essential in enabling effective fisheries management, promoting sustainable and profitable practices, and maintaining healthy marine ecosystems.

Energy Data Journey

In the following section, we will provide a brief and interactive map presentation of the spatial data that highlights the geographic distribution, trends, and characteristics of the energy sector.

Share Your Knowledge

As we move towards developing a marine spatial plan, we need your help! We’re looking for individuals with knowledge on the island’s coastal and marine environment to share their expertise with us. By contributing your knowledge, you can help us identify areas that are important for conservation and sustainable use of our seas, as well as assess human activities that impact our marine resources.

Together we can create a marine spatial plan that provides a sustainable future for our oceans and the people who depend on them.
